Shot with Nikon FM10 and an Ilford Kentmere Pan400
It was on my usual visit to the camera store that my eyes fell on the stack of film rolls. A chill ran down my spine like it would have when you see your childhood crush in your 30s and when she looks more beautiful than you remember.
I did have a film camera. I didn’t use it for years. Now I did know which film to buy. I asked for the cheapest one of the lot. They handed me an Illford Kentmere Pan400.
It was all instinctive. I loaded the film roll like I knew how to do that all these days. I wondered if I had loaded it right. When done, I dropped it at a camera store in Downtown. I eagerly waited for a week to get them processed and had no hopes of any good images. When they arrived, I was very happy. These pictures spoke to me. I could feel standing at all these places. I relived those moments.
The good: I enjoyed the suspense that was involved. I was not sure if I was exposing them properly. I did everything from what I recollected from my memory. The images were sharp even for a ISO400 film. I was in no rush.
The bad: I had few images where my compositions were slanting. I had to correct them in post. A few were underexposed and unusable.
Learning: Take time to compose. Look for well balanced composition.
Gear used:
